Hydraulic Pool Trolley Review - The Hydraulic pool trolley is our best selling, most popular pool trolley.

Pool trolleys are an extremely handy piece of equipment. They are predominantly design for pubs, bars and club pool tables. This is the market that they were initially produced for. However since the boom of the home market pool table we have found more and more sales going to the home, youth clubs and offices.

There is however a few things you should be aware of before buying a pool trolley. The first thing is that they are designed for pub tables. This means that they will not be as effective on the slim bodied pool tables such as pool dining table range. The trolleys will simply not jack up high enough to lift the table sufficiently.

This does not mean that the Hydraulic trolley will only work on very deep bodied tables such as the Supreme Winner. This particular trolley lifts higher than most. It will rise up to 47cm in height which will allow it to perform well on the vast majority of UK made pool tables.

I have also seen these trolleys in bars that have been adapted with boards of wood attached to the top of the trolley. This creates even more height on the lift. This ensures that it will work with some of the shallower bodied pub pool tables. Although we obviously cannot recommend this method, it does seem to work to good effect.

This trolley is smaller than other models on today's market. This means that when it is not in use it sits neatly under the table it out of view.

Another superb feature of the Hydraulic trolley is that it is jacked up from one end. Many manual lift models require you to lift a handle at both ends of the trolley. This can definitely have its downfalls. When using the Hydraulic trolley you can push the table into the corner of the room and up against the wall. As it will lift from one end you do not need to crawl under the table to try and lift the awkward to get at handles. It may not sound like a big advantage but having struggled with this on many occasions I can assure you it is.

The main benefit to a pool trolley of course is very obvious. Nearly all slate bed pool tables will weigh over 200kg and the last thing you want to be doing is regularly moving them. Even with four strong men it is difficult to move a table. What often happens is that the table ends up being dragged which is a sure fire way of damaging the table legs and eventually making the table un-level or even worse un-safe. It really does stop the risk of damage to the table and to your back.

So how does the Hydraulic trolley work? Simple really, you just insert the handle at the jack end and manually lift the handle up and down. This raises the trolley and table to enable you to easily wheel it around the room. When you have positioned the trolley just turn the handle and this releases the gas and lowers the table in a controlled manner. This again is another nice feature as it stops the table banging down onto the floor putting the legs under immense strain. It also prevents the leg bolts from loosening over time. It really is as simple as that.

A lot of people worry that the Hydraulic gas canister will run out quickly making the trolley redundant. This isn’t the case. On average the canister will last around 2-3 years in a busy pub where it is being used on a regular basis. On a home table this can mean the gas can last up to 10 years depending on usage. When it does eventually run out they can be quite easily refilled so it really doesn’t cause any issue.

Pool trolleys are only designed to be used on flat surfaces. A common mistake is the thought that trolleys can move tables up a step or over a ridge. This I’m afraid would need to be done manually. The trolley is designed to move tables on one flat level only.

These products really are a must if you think you may need to move the pool table from A to B. It is a necessity if you own a bar or club that has functions. They lift up to 600kg so this includes every UK 6ft or 7ft pool table on the market.

A small price to pay. Save all the pain and strain of trying to move slate bed pool tables.
