Once you have decided what size pool table you require and which room it is going into the next stage is to be certain that it will physically go into that room

This is particularly important if it is going upstairs or into a basement but we will come to that shortly.

Most installations are on the ground floor and it is very rare that we fail to get a table into a ground floor situation. Deliveries are made in Sprinter style vans so they can access most locations.

The Simonis 861 Pool Cloth Phenomenon in the UK

When it comes to fast playing pool cloth Simonis are known throughout the world as the finest quality. Their cloth has been used in most major American Pool tournaments and they are renowned as great supporters of the game of pool through sponsorship of events in many countries.

Although they have been present in the UK for over 40 years the Simonis cloth has mostly been used in pubs and American pool centres.

That presence has now exploded into a new phenomenon with the introduction of the incredible Simonis “Strachan” 861 pool cloth for UK specification tables.

Simonis started to sponsor the IPA tour events which use Supreme pool tables fitted with the new 861 and it has taken off into the stratosphere.

At first this terrific cloth, available only in Powder Blue, was requested by the players involved in the IPA events but very quickly the word spread that it was something special. It plays very fast and gives a consistent ball response without the influence of a nap or directional finish to its surface.

On top of that the operators and fitters of the cloth, reluctant at first, have seen that not only do the players love it but the cloth lasts longer than conventional cloth and requires very little maintenance with its coating of liquid resistant finish.

Also Simonis have developed a friction cleaning tool called the X1 which replaces the conventional brush and removes chalk deposits at a stroke to keep the cloth looking good for longer.

Sales have now spread outside the devotees to the rank and file of the pool world who see the benefits and are buying in bulk given the obvious longevity benefits
