Wood bed pool tables are basically a pool table that does not have a slate bed playing surface. The main advantage of this is that the table is an awful lot lighter than a slate bed table. A professional pool table slate will weigh over 100kg alone.

This means if it the cloth tares then it can’t be fixed. The cloth on these tables also tends to be of a lower quality making it less durable felt which does not help the situation.

The imported tables on the market do not usually conform to regulation size either. They can be bigger or smaller than the standard English 6ft or 7ft pool tables. The UK tables made tables are usually always built to pub specification size.

The UK produced tables that we sell are manufactured by long established slate bed Pool Table makers. This means that the wood bed models use many of the same parts that you would find on a slate bed pub table. They have solid durable top frames and use high quality pool table cloth and cushion rubber which really makes a difference to the game.

Both the UK and Imported tables have a place in the market. It is however important to understand what you are buying. If you require a basic family fun table designed to be used every so often at an affordable price then the imported tables are perfect. However if you feel you would prefer a far more solid and durable table that will provide a much better game and last a long time then a UK model is for you.
