Pool Table Delivery Times

We are regularly asked by customers why pool tables can have such long delivery times. Below is a summary to explain why the industry has struggled to meet demand and the issues faced over the last few years.

The last few years have been a very turbulent time for pool table manufacturers. When Covid hit, all the UK pool manufacturers were ordered to close their factories, and production came to a standstill. At the same time, the entire population were told to stay at home and naturally, people were looking for things to do. It meant a great demand for pool tables, and the influx of orders quickly created a significant backlog.

Once the factories were allowed to restart production, many new working rules had emerged. Social distancing slowed down production lines, and staff had to isolate themselves if they felt unwell. This, combined with limited staffing numbers, meant the backlog for tables continued to grow.

As things slowly returned to normal, a new issue arose. The supply of components became a real problem. Although tables are produced in the UK, many parts, such as slates, cushion rubber and more, are sourced overseas. The lack of shipping containers meant lengthy delays in receiving parts causing production to once again come to a standstill.

The good news is that things finally seem to be improving. The supply of components is gradually improving, and factories are now at full production. Whilst lead times remain long for specific tables, we feel that the significant stock commitments we have made will ensure we can offer all our customers the perfect pool table.
